ART DIRECTOR

  • Ceramics

Girls master techniques like coiling, pinch pots, and slabs. They explore methods such as slip and scoring, as well as sgraffito and nature printing, to create pottery and sculptures using both wheel and hand-building approaches with a variety of underglaze and glaze techniques.

  • Fine Arts

Girls explore an array of mediums, from still life studies with charcoal and oil to the depictions of the beautiful Berkshires scenery, using acrylic and watercolor. They explore color theory, create collaborative murals, and study and emulate great artists from throughout the ages.

  • Digital Arts

Girls cultivate 21st century media literacy skills by experimenting with graphic design, animation, and digital photography. They will not only learn to create, but also master the art of editing using Adobe Photoshop.

  • Printmaking

Girls explore the world of printmaking, employing techniques like screen printing, linocuts, etching, solar, and relief printing. Their designs will then be transformed into intricate paper prints, fabric patterns, and graphic clothing designs using a variety of water soluble and oil based inks.

  • Jewelry & Metalworking

Girls craft unique pieces through techniques like wire wrapping, beading, and resin work. They also explore etching, hammering, and stamping to create unique metal pieces like charms, bracelets, and rings.

  • 3D Printing

    3D Printing

Girls will explore the exciting intersection of art and technology with 3D Printing. They will delve into the fundamentals and principles of design, learning to bring ideas to life as 3D objects. Then, their creations can act as tools to use in other artistic media or stand alone as their own unique piece of art.
